Background informatio
Teresa Fu, born in China, immigrated to the UK in 1980. She initially settled in Ellesmere Port with her family, where they lived for 15 years before moving to North Wales in 2010. Teresa is currently 59 years old.
Teresa is the eldest of her siblings, with four younger sisters and two brothers. She played a significant role in supporting her family during their early years in the UK, especially when her parents purchased a takeaway business in 1983. Her parents faced significant challenges, such as language barriers and financial hardship. Teresa often helped in the family business while also studying at Chester College.
She is married and has eight children—six daughters and two sons. The couple’s large family was influenced by traditional values, as her husband, the youngest son in his family, felt a cultural obligation to have male heirs.
Teresa’s move to Wales was motivated by the area’s favorable environment and opportunities for running a small business. The family bought a takeaway shop and decided to settle there. She speaks fondly of the warm and supportive community in Wales, mentioning local residents and institutions that offered help during challenging times.
Teresa appreciates the tranquility and strong community ties in Wales, which contributed to her decision to raise her family there. While two of her older children were born in Ellesmere Port, the remaining six were born in Wales.
