Linda Yip Ming Ying is a dedicated and resilient woman with a rich story of perseverance and service. When she first arrived in the UK, Linda began her journey working in a Chinese takeaway, often spending long hours cutting up potatoes and learning just how challenging it could be to earn a living in a new country. Through hard work and persistence, she carved out a life for herself and her family. Linda wants her grandchildren and future generations to understand the hard work, sacrifices, and determination required in those early years, hoping they’ll appreciate and build on her legacy.

After retiring, Linda dedicated much of her time to volunteering at the Chinese Co-operative Centre, helping build and support her community. She took part in organizing and joining trips to places like the Netherlands, France, and London, offering a bridge to cultural understanding and pride for the Chinese community in Wales. Linda is passionate about passing down her stories and ensuring that her family remains connected to organisations like the Chinese in Wales Association, which plays a vital role in fostering unity and cultural heritage for Chinese people across Wales.
