How Loneliness Affects Us?

Since last Spring 2020 until February 2021, there was a significant increase in loneliness among the adult population in the UK during the pandemic.

Results from Opinions and Lifestyle Survey (OPN) from Office for National Statistics:

1
adults feel lonely or isolated during the pandemic.

Unemployment, anxiety and old age are the main factors.

We all feel lonely at some point. Even living with our family, lockdown alone is enough to create tension that leads to a relationship breakdown, which causes a great sense of loneliness.

Old Age: Most Vulnerable

Being cut out from the world, getting weaker, neglected at home, leaving the workplace, deaths of spouses and friends, illness etc. are making them vulnerable to loneliness.

You Can Make a Difference

More than a million older people say they go for over a month without speaking to a friend, neighbour or family member.

Befriends them by giving them a call to brighten up their days.
