We are seeking Trustees

Chinese In Wales Association (CIWA) is a charitable organisation which aims to deliver services that will make a positive difference to the lives of ethnic Chinese residents in Wales.

CIWA was set up to meet the changing demographic needs of the Chinese community in Wales. CIWA has its headquarter based in Swansea which provides core services such as language services in Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka-Chinese, and English, advocacy, and case referral.

Based on our capacity, we also advise on local welfare, housing, healthcare, education and employment; organise social and educational activities, and participate in the promotion of a diverse, multi-cultural society.

Charity trustees have, and must accept, ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of the charity. This means ensuring that it is solvent and well-run, and delivering the charitable outcomes for the benefit of the public for which it was set up.

We are looking for up to 3 new trustees to join us in 2019 and take the organisation forward. They should be enthusiastic, motivated and reliable to help govern the organisation effectively.

We welcome people with expertise in funding applications, finance management, event planning or digital marketing.

Trustees are required to attend Board meetings at least quarterly or when necessary. Reasonable travel costs to attend meetings or carry out trustee duties can be reimbursed.
