Older people and those from certain ethnicities including Chinese are at greater risk.
A guest speaker from Glaucoma UK will share with us how we can prevent, protect and treat glaucoma.
Glaucoma is a series of eye conditions that affect the optic nerve. The fluid inside the eye builds up and cannot drain away properly so the pressure builds up. This pressure presses on the optic nerve and can cause blindness. However, if treated correctly people can retain their sight for life.
Thank you to Melanie, and Foo Seng for delivering the talk to our community today. A very beneficial and educational talk about eye diseases for our community members.
According to the feedback, our members found the talk easy to understand and very helpful. They are grateful that they are made aware of eye health, and are looking forward to furthering health-related talks!
Remember, any effort of us to stay well is a way of helping to ease the pressure on the hard-working medical staff!
