Lion and Dragon Dance Day at Waterfront Museum

Lion dance is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture, paired with dragon dance, it just got better.  Both the Chinese dragon and Welsh Red Dragon (Y Ddraig Goch) represent not only power and authority, but also benevolence. It is a symbol of pride in their history and culture.
Our Dance Day had 31 children joining us, age ranging from 7-19.
It was very successful, the children were very committed and they trained simultaneously in three groups, swapping over every 20 minutes.
Parents were also impressed with the event; many thanked us for organising it and requested to have the lion/dragon dance as a regular activity. A parent who works in a primary school engaged with the trainer and asked him to run activities in the school where she works.  The children particularly enjoyed the part where they ran around outside the museum with the dragon.

Local citizens were also delighted by the dragon dancing around them, many stopped to watch and took pictures.

A very big thanks to Carl, who taught the children those cultural activities.
