On Wednesday, 13 May 2026, our Cardiff community gathered at the Butetown Pavilion Hub for an interactive health talk and social afternoon centered around sight loss prevention and holistic wellbeing.

We were delighted to welcome guest speakers from Sight Life to lead a bilingual eye health session with English and Chinese interpretation. Participants gained valuable insights into common conditions like glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration, along with practical tips on eye nutrition. Everyone also had the unique opportunity to try on simulation glasses to better understand different types of visual impairment.

The afternoon was as joyful as it was informative! Attendees enjoyed homemade bao buns and refreshments, followed by an uplifting Cantonese singing session that brought plenty of smiles to the room. To continue supporting digital inclusion within our community, we were also pleased to distribute free six-month data SIM cards.

A heartfelt thank you to Sight Life for their engaging presentation, and to Comic Relief for funding these essential, multi-faceted community sessions!

NHS…
